Lets see… Hmm… I have to say, one of the best things about staying connected with your fans is to stay personal with them. Market to your area. If your playing a show in Tuscon, AZ you should gather the fans emails you have there, and let them know. Don’t blast every person on your list. No one likes to get an email about a show in new york when they live in San Francisco. Make sure you advertise your shows to the audience that can be there. Make your email lists, text messages, and such are personalized. Show that you care about them enough to know where they are from.
We also feel that text messages and phone calls help. Instead of just blasting people with some copy/paste email, get them with the phone. Make calls to friends and people you know in the area, it will show you care. By being personal with your fans you will find they are more inclined to attend your show and pass the invite on to their friends.
and that is how we plug-in.
