Kimo’s has muscled its way through two decades of stiff competition and still holds its own. The bar is a mainstay in the Lower Polk gay bar scene and nowadays attracts a healthily mixed crowd. On weekends Kimo’s hosts solid live shows, frequently featuring good indie bands.
They get a lot of Emails from lots of bands so don’t get mad if your email gets lost in the chaos, please try again. Kimos makes the clarification “We can’t return everyone’s email and frankly, some bands just aren’t going to get to play here. We don’t mean to be mean, but if your band sucks or has no real potential of bringing in a crowd we just aren’t going to book you.”
