Would it be more beneficial for a band to form a S-Corp instead of an LLC, if they do not need to worry about insurance? Just as a way to distribute the money to the band members?

This is critical to a band! The reasons in this article for an LLC are general criteria. However, you should ask where do you want the band to go in the future in terms of growth.

In terms of minimum taxes that need to be paid….it depends upon the state in which you file and the amount of revenue.

I form LLC’s, S-corps, and C-corps on a daily basis.
