I had the opportunity to hear from Sid Savara, a serious game changing blogger. I think his story could help to encourage and motivate you to become a better blogger with goals and world changing ideas.

Sid Savara broke down each of Robert Cialdini’s Six Weapons of Influence, and scientifically applied them to blogging.   These 6 “weapons of influence” include Reciprocity, Commitment and Consistency, Social Proof, Authority, Liking, Scarcity.  Understanding human psychology and the way that your readers perceive you allows you to ethically position your blog in a way that will increase traffic, subscribers and ultimately help you sell more to your customers.

Recently I had the opportunity to attend BlogWorld with Webdoc. When I was not at the table pitching the product, I had to opportunity to listen to some really excellent sessions about blogging. The session by Tom Martin was by far the most useful. I attempted to record the talk using SoundCloud… I must admit the recording is not as awesome as I had originally hoped…. Hopefully you can capture something useful.

Recently I have been working with a social media company called Webdoc. We are promoting their web app as a new way to help bands/brands promote themselves online.

Last week we were at BlogWorld Expo LA promoting Webdoc to Bands, Fans and Industry Professionals. While there, Jeffrey Powers from Geekazine and sponsored by StitcherRadio noticed something special in Webdoc. I am sharing this with you in order to say, “hey look I’m on TV and… check out www.webdoc.com. It is a great tool for promoting your band, brand or event.”

Examples:
Yeah, Yeah… I hear you… now you’re getting cynical and saying “I don’t believe you… I WAN’T PROOF!” I think that’s fair. As as example look at how Nirvana is using it to promote their 20 year anniversary of Nermind.

A highlight of what Jeffrey Powers had to say about Webdoc:
Stefan Aronsen joins Jeff on Stitcher’s Voices of New Media show. Stefan actually worked for Stitcher, but now is working with Webdoc. This is a site that uses HTML5 to pull items into your page. You can then move, resize and more to make a really nice page for a website or Facebook. From videos, to Maps, pictures and more.

Bands like Nirvana have used Webdoc to organize their media. Best part is you can comment by adding your own content and create your own page.

The application is free, but a pro page will be coming in the next year.

While the Digital Hollywood site is nothing to brag about… in fact the site is crap… the event was very impressive. It was a great venue to meet and greet amazing minds from music, movies and technology.

Digital Hollywood Fall, on October 17-20, 2011, was held at the The Ritz Carlton in Marina del Rey, California. The Ritz Carlton is the most elegant hotel on the West Side, featuring outdoor tents, poolside seating and a fancy bar with a fireplace. Last week, Michael Brandvold from Michael Brandvold Marketing along with Hisham Dahud from Fame House, gave a presentation at NARIP entitled How To Use Social Media To Promote Music.

The event was sponsored by NARIP, an abbreviation which stands for National Association of Record Industry Professionals and hosted at SAE. On a side note, you should really look into SAE, it’s a campus dedicated to training students for success in the Audio and Entertainment Industries. For your viewing pleasure, I have attached all the content from the presentation. The information is designed to help you be more successful at promoting your band on the internet. Michael promoted his talking saying, “A digital strategy can mean the difference between “who are you?” and “Wow, look at how many albums you’ve sold!””
